AR Music Kit

We have built “AR Music Kit”, an Android application which was prepared in collaboration with Mr.Yuri Suzuki for demonstration for people to experience during the 2016 Google / IO conference. The project was also used in Huawei’s booth in World Mobile Congress 2018.

By simply placing a few pieces of paper printed with images readable to our camera, the “AR Music Kit” allowed users to turn their object of desire into a musical instrument.

In our initial AR project, our concept involved augmenting visual stimuli by incorporating animal appearances through AR technology. However, with the AR Music Kit, we have shifted our emphasis to enhancing the user experience by engaging the auditory sense, thereby altering our approach to focus on sound and music.

Through the two AR projects that we have worked on, there were many differences despite them both being AR projects. The development process gave us a multitude of opportunities to learn and grow.

The code is publicly available as it is an open source software.
