DriveCamera

DriveCamera

AR app that entertains kids in the backseat during drives

Role: Implementation / Development Management

We were responsible for the development for the Android variation of the DriveCamera app, the AR (Augmented Reality) App released by Toyota.

In the beginning, the app was conceptualised to keep the children at the back seat entertained as they sat in a moving car. There, DriveCamera would calibrate with the speed of the car and display wild animals on the screen of the mobile phone.

If driven slowly or stagnated at a red light, a sloth would be walking on screen slowly. With speed however, an Ostrich or a cheetah would appear to be running along the side of the car.

DriveCamera uses the speed of the car to display an animal that would run / move at a similar speed as the driven car, therefore expanding the visual of the otherwise boring ride.

With this Augmented Reality installed, children would be able to experience and learn how fast animals can run as they sit at the back seat.
